HOW FORGET ME KNOT BECAME
My name is Dani and I am the proud owner of Forget Me Knot Hire Boutique. Next to me is my number one supporter Johan who has been there every step of the way.
It was in September 2020 I decided that after years of humming and harring about leaving the Education field and trying out different career paths that I wanted to start my own business.
I had always liked the idea of working for myself and wanting to start a business I could call my own while showcasing my own style and creativity. Thinking hard about a few ideas and laying out the options I still couldn't put my finger on a business idea. With ideas rolling around my head as I was driving back from Auckland after a long day of dress fittings for my coming wedding, I had a light bulb moment...
A little more to the name...
ABOUT US
After thinking long and hard about a business name and logo I knew I wanted to symbolise love to the name. With a focus on delving into wedding event hire naturally the 'forget me not' flower sprung to mind with a meaning of true love and faithful memories. A month after incorporating my company's name I had dinner with my cousin who mentioned having a forget me not flower tattoo in loving memory of our Nan who passed away with Alzheimer's Disease. Oblivious to knowing that forget me nots are the offical flower for the Alzheimer's Society representing remembrance, it was reassuring I had picked both a meaningful and suitable name for my business.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Hey there, that's me Dani in the photo striking a pose. I live in Papamoa with my husband Johan, our son Quinn and pup Loki.
I am a country girl at heart, traveller, lover of animals, the outdoors and west coast beaches. If I am not filling my time taking photos of the things I love or hiking somewhere in the bush then I am blobbing out to a mystery Netflix series on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in hand.
